And then...
They were in a whole new world. Gushing with excitement and barely contained glee. There was a whole new city to explore. The id tags around their necks reminded them of the proud fact that they now had 'jobs'. They embarked upon this new journey, holding hands, glad that they hadn’t arrived there alone. Training was mad mad fun. Meeting new people, learning new stuff, having crushes, falling briefly in love, drunk on happiness.
Then one day, in the cafeteria, they met another guy. A friend of a friend made acquaintance. Again, very very random!!!. He was supposedly super-shy, innocent and naive, and everyone at once felt protective towards him and tried to indulge him in small-talk. I can only imagine how much this sarcastic cynic would have laughed inside his head at this motley bunch.
Laughter, sarcasm and a heady rush of freedom – this was the backdrop where they got to know each other better. Every little occurrence taught them a little abt each other. One was extra sensitive, one was a child at heart, one exuberantly crazy, one subtly funny, so on and so forth. They didn’t find anything wrong with one-another. Yet.

Genesis
They met by chance. The gang.
One day the universe just shook up the lives of a bunch of people. This was not destiny, not a part of an intricate web of design woven by the long and sinewy fingers of a higher power tweaking the threads of fate in the fabric of life.
It was random.
Someone started an initiative called JKC, and the afore- mentioned bunch of people signed up, and made a decision that gave their course of life a new direction. Some of them did well in the IBM recruitment drive, and that sealed their fate.
A few years back, in another part of the world, another random guy invented a social networking site called the Orkut. And one random tall skinny guy form the bunch started a new group in that site, and invited the others. Some people turned . A few were excited, to meet their future colleagues, some hated their current friends and were despo to meet new people, while others had nothing better to do.
The ones who were to form ‘the gang’, gravitated towards each other. Randomly. One guy didn’t even turn up. He was to come into the picture later. Meanwhile the gang was slowly forming. They met again, and were getting to know each other better, through Orkut. I think they liked what they saw.
An year later, summons came, they packed their bags and left for another place. Most of them travelled together, finding comfort and excitement in being together, and stayed together. Limping Lucy joined them later, and they all stayed together. But one guy was still oblivious to the fact that he’d be joining them, and what tumultuous journey lay ahead.
